In 1982, Tobe Hooper had the biggest hit of his career with the haunted house classic "Poltergeist" - but some said that Steven Spielberg had actually directed it, but didn't want the shockfest to distract from his smash "E.T. The Extra Terrestrial," out the same year. But MG argues differently - that the film is as Hooperesque as it is Spielbergian, and the combo makes for not just one of the best films of the 80s.
